Photography is part of my profession. I’ve been working in the industry for over 8 years and have photographed international sporting events, building and architecture (cityscape), portraits, and corporate events. In addition, I work as a photography instructor, where I help beginners understand the basics of photography and help them to capture amazing images.

I work as a full-time Production and Social Media Specialist for a reputed university in Doha. Photography is part of my role there. I also work on freelance photography projects on the side, which allow me to enhance my creativity and skillsets. Doing this simultaneously allows me to get exposure to trends and developments in the photography industry.

I’ve been in this profession for over 8 years now. I can’t believe it’s been that long already. It feels like only yesterday that I started. I’m grateful to have found a career that I’m passionate about and that I can see myself doing for many years to come.

I became interested in photography when I moved to Qatar and saw the beautiful Doha skyline. When I saw the skyline of Qatar for the first time, I was inspired to take up photography. The way the sun reflects off the buildings and the way the city looks so different at night – it’s just breathtaking. I wanted to be able to share that feeling with others, and photography seemed like the perfect way to do it. However, becoming a photographer or a creative specialist had been my dream since my childhood.

I specialize in cityscape, sports & events photography. I love capturing the energy and bustle of busy urban environments. I also enjoy shooting sports and events. I find the challenge of freeze framing fast-moving action to be really exhilarating. No matter what genre I’m shooting, my goal is to always capture moments that are full of drama, emotion, and excitement.

Daniel Cheong (Dubai Based) is one of my favorite photographers. I always look up to him for inspiration. His cityscape & landscape photographs are particularly stunning. He is definitely a big inspiration for me and he is one of the reasons why I choose to shoot cityscape photography myself.

The industry of photography is not just a profession, but an art. If photographers charge low rates for their work, this could devalue the art, as well as the profession itself. This makes it difficult for those who want to make photography their profession and to get paid what they deserve.

I”m self-taught. I never went to a photography school. I learned by reading books and watching videos about photography. I also practiced a lot. To add value to my portfolio I completed my Diploma in Photography in 2018 and became a Licentiateship member of British Institute of Professional photography. As a photographer, mentor, and a photography instructor, I think the best way to learn photography is to just get out there and start taking pictures. Trial and error is the best teacher. The more you practice, the better you’ll become at photography.

I had no any formal education in photography, but that didn’t stop me from learning. I started by reading articles and watching videos on the subject. Then I began practicing with my own camera. I would take pictures of anything and everything, experimenting with different settings and techniques. After a while, I started to develop my own style. Eventually, I started entering my photos into competitions and taking on paid assignments. These experiences helped me learn even more about photography and allowed me to perfect my craft.

I am quite passionate about photography. I find it to be both challenging and rewarding. There are infinite possibilities when it comes to photography, and I enjoy exploring all of them. I love the process of taking photos, from choosing the right composition to editing them afterwards. It’s always exciting to see the final results.
